Wonderful Birthday Present Part 2

Thursday morning I woke up early (not on accident, it was on purpose) and I made breakfast (Milk Cake better known as Coffee Cake) and then got ready to go to the temple. At 9:30 we went over to the church and much to my dismay, they remembered it was my birthday and everybody sang to me. I would have been okay with the "hello's" I got from people but the chorus was just too much.

I rode down to Salt Lake with 5 other young women and the Beehive's advisor. we had a great time and Caitlin fell asleep. Love her to death though. When we got down to the Conference Center Parking area we drove around forever just trying to find a parking spot. Then we got out and joined the rest of our group at the front of the Conference Center. We took a couple of pictures and headed towards the temple.

We entered the temple and got our recommends checked. Then we got our suits and went and got dressed. we came back and all the young men and half the young women were given family names that we had brought with us. I was not one of them and neither were Alyssa, Ashley, Allie Ashlynn, Caitie, and myself. We went and did confirmations first. When both Ashlynn and Allie were done they sent them to the font area, but Caitie and I stayed till the both of us finished. We were about to go up to the font area but the YW president pulled us and said: "you can't go yet" I started to protest but then she pulled me in and whispered in my ear,"the General Authorities are going to pass through." Okay that's enough for me, I'll stay!

We waited for about 10 minutes, first two secretaries passed through. then all of a sudden President Monson was walking toward us, and directly behind him was President Eyring, then President Uchtdorf. all four of us young women, the only youth from our ward (Ashley, Alyssa, Caitie and myself) to see this magnificent sight, gasped. standing not 10-15 feet in front of us was the prophet of the Lord. Presdient Monson made a joke, "Conference is over, you can go home now," and, "Are you having your own Conference?" and "did you enjoy Conference?" Then he had President Uchtdorf say something in German, and hoped that someone would reply. Dad would have, but he was in the very back. Then they went on their way. We figure, and we could be wrong, that they were on their way to lunch after their Thursday meeting.

One by one several of the twelve filtered through. Elder Bednar, Elder Cook, Elder Christofferson, Elder Nelson, Elder Packer, Elder Ballard and last but not least, Elder Scott. Then we went into the Baptistry and did baptisms. All in all, the highlight of my 15th Birthday!
